On Earth Day we pause to notice how the world that appears depends on how we perceive. This talk explores two perspectives: we can participate, and we are not in control. When these are interwoven, often something in us softens.
As human centered perception loosens, we begin to sense ourselves as one being among many beings, a life interwoven with other lives. The boundaries between “me” and “world” can feel a little more fluid through the body. In that widening, the Earth is no longer only a problem to solve, but a vast community of beings we are woven into.
From that wider perception, compassion deepens, and wise action can arise from reverence and devotion rather than supremacy, despair, or the pressure to fix everything. Love becomes less contingent on outcomes, and more like a practice of staying in relationship. It is a way of letting the Earth be loved through us, again and again.
