Adam Lobel

Adam Lobel, Ph.D, practices at the threshold of ecologies, Buddhist meditation and philosophy, contemplative education, and psycho-social political change. His work in the world weaves these practices together into the Four Fields. Adam is a scholar-practitioner of philosophy and religion, focusing on Dzogchen Tibetan Buddhism and contemporary theory. He is active in contemplative design and research. A teacher of Ecopsychology and a Focusing professional, he is curious about cultural therapeutics for social upheavals. He leads ecodharma workshops, teaches in the Ecosattva Training, is a Guiding Teacher for One Earth Sangha, a GreenFaith fellow, and is active in environmental justice movements. He helped found 4F Regeneration, an ecological consulting organization to support individuals and nonprofits on the front lines of protecting the earth. He lives in Pittsburgh, PA with his partner and two kids where he protects lands from the petrochemical industry. For more on Adam’s practices: www.releasement.org

Abundance and Earth's Teaching

We begin by grounding ourselves in relationship—with the Earth, with lineage ancestors, and with one another. We establish a rhythm of study, reflection, and embodied practice. In a time of planetary upheaval, this module invites a renewed sense of belonging within the larger web of life, cultivating reverence and thankfulness as the basis for wise and compassionate engagement.

Welcome

This module welcomes you into the Ecodharma Teacher Course before our first Live Session in Module. Here we provide the resources to orient you to the course and begin your journey.

Creating and Discovering the Way

As we continue attuning to wild uncertainty, we might begin to contact new yearnings, new potential for manifestation. What is the biosphere asking of us? When we touch into silence and stillness, what possible futures can we sense?

Making a Home in Uncertainty

To be authentically helpful necessitates radical comfort with the unknown. We must metabolize our mind-boggling, heartrending situation and learn to recognize the endless possibilities contained therein.

Sometimes Just Be

Our friend the tree may teach us much more than rootedness: what steadies also sways, and what bursts ripe with fruit and flowers moves not an inch. Adam Lobel offers a dynamic teaching well-timed for our political moment.
