From the event organizer’s description:

Extinction Rebellion is just one year old. Its aims are to get the government to tell the truth about the impending climate disaster; to achieve zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2025, and to create and be led by the decisions of a Citizen’s Assembly on climate and ecological justice. Its methods are totally non-violent, and its field of concern is all the species of this planet, recognizing, in particular, the socio-politico-economic collapse being brought about by the environmental crisis. Everybody who is a Mahayana Buddhist has a moral obligation to care about all the beings of the planet, both now and in the future. These two agendas, external and internal have a powerful synergy.

Andy will lead two sessions, the first of which will be a meditation and talk followed by question and answer, situating the present climate crisis within the Buddhist worldview and cosmology. The second will be a participatory workshop of discussion, meditation, talks etc exploring the inner ethics required for a successful rebellion, namely non-violence and universal responsibility. These events can be attended as standalone or together.
