“Global Sustainability Cannot Happen Without Great Compassion”
with Francesca Paoletti
This is an online event.
From the organizer:
Francesca Paoletti is an environmental engineer with more than 20 years of experience in the international energy sector. The focus of her work is contributing to a fast transition towards a decarbonized society and supporting renewable energy communities in order to ensure that this transition happens in a participative, inclusive and socially viable manner. Francesca is a practicing Buddhist since 2010. In her engagement for a sustainable planet she connects her technical background with her Dharma practice.
With the ongoing climate destabilization, humanity is probably facing one of the most threatening phases of its history. In addition to the climate crisis, the unsustainable use of natural resources is forcing us to question our economic model based on continuous growth. We will only be able to successfully master these challenges if we question our consumption behavior and the mindset that is behind it.
This event is hosted by Jamyang Buddhist Centre Leeds.

One Earth Sangha offers a global list of events that express a Buddhist / mindfulness response to ecological crises. We invite you to join or add events that develop and demonstrate our interdependence with all of life! Events that address multiple issues (e.g., racism, economic injustice and environmental health) are encouraged. You’re invited to list events from your local sangha, including earth-oriented day-longs, retreats and even regular sangha meetings. We also want you to share demonstration and direct action events. You, the members of our Sangha, are encouraged to submit events, whether they be from the Dharma community, other faith groups or secular, where you wish to gather other Buddhist / mindfulness practitioners to participate. To submit an event, please email us.
This growing list of events will always be available here and in the main menu under “Get Involved.”
