EcoSattva Training: Frequently Asked Questions

General

The EcoSattva Training is self-paced and self-scheduled. Registration is open now for groups and individuals, and all session materials are available to registered participants. You can start whenever you like, and you will never lose access to the course materials.

A recording of our kickoff exploration, led by Rupert Marques, is available on the program page: A Seamless Belonging.

Participants are warmly invited to join our live gatherings, which take place via Zoom on the second Sunday of each month through May 2024.

See our Course Status for the most up-to-date information on the training schedule.

While we encourage group participation, in person or online, you are absolutely welcome to join the training as an individual.

We do consistently hear that the training is especially powerful in a group context. Additionally, members of groups of three or more receive 25% off their registration fee. If you don’t have a group, you can create one, or visit our directory to explore open groups.

To understand the full context of the training, some interest in or experience with Buddhism will be helpful. But we encourage participants of any (or no) spiritual background to join.

Our only requirement for participation with others is that you engage the material with a sense of curiosity and thoroughly respect differing points of view.

Your registration includes:

  • Access to all session materials on the Course Resources page: session videos, opening and closing rituals, practices, and optional follow-up resources.
  • Access to the live Zoom gatherings, which are held the second Sunday of every month, starting in November 2023.
  • All course materials will be available indefinitely to registered participants.
  • Support for group participation. We invite you to reach out to members of your local community or to form an online group to do the training together. Group members receive a discount on registration. Learn more about groups and create one here.

Accessing Sessions

Registered participants can access all materials via the Course Resources page as they become available.

We request that you don’t. Registrations support our operations, as well as helping us understand the reach of our training and improve future offerings. However, we do not turn anyone away due to lack of funds. We invite you to request free or discounted registration according to your financial situation.

Our goal is to provide closed captioning and transcripts for every video. Because this process takes some time, captions and transcripts may not be immediately available when videos are released, but we will complete them as soon as we can. If you are interested in helping us with this project, please contact us.

Since these videos are such large files, they’re especially vulnerable to any network interruptions. Try refreshing the page and ensuring there are no problems with your internet connection. If you continue to have issues, please reach out to us at .

Yes, videos can be downloaded from the Session pages so that you can watch them at your convenience even without an internet connection. Under each video, you’ll find a “Download” link that will allow you to save it to your device.

Additionally, MP3 audio versions of the guided practices in all sessions are available for download.

All course resources will remain permanently available to registered participants. Please feel free to go at your own pace without concern that you will lose access.

Live Gatherings

From November 2023 through May 2024, we hosted monthly live conversations open to all registered participants in the EcoSattva Training. The gatherings have concluded for this season of the training and will resume with the launch of the newest version in fall of 2024.

A recording of the October 22 kickoff gathering will be made available on the program page for participants who are unable to attend.

The rest of the EcoSattva Training Live Gatherings will focus primarily on connection in small groups. For this reason, we do not plan on sharing recordings of these sessions.

Registration Fees and Dana

See our registration fee structure for a full breakdown of our sliding scale.

Through the generosity of our community, discounted or free registration is available upon request. No one will be turned away from this course for lack of funds.

We invite you to engage in the practice of Dana, or generosity, to support the teachers leading the EcoSattva Training and the work of One Earth Sangha. Each session contains a link to offer donations to One Earth Sangha and/or that session’s featured guest.

Many in our community return to this training again and again. It is never the same experience. Though some of the content remains constant, through the new version you’ll have access to new teachings, practices, and the new season of live monthly gatherings.

If you have taken a previous version of the training and are subscribed to our mailing list, you should have received an email with a link to subscribe at the “Renewer” rate of 50% off. If you haven’t received this link and believe you should have, please contact us at .

EcoSanghas: Training as a Group

The Training is better together! Members of registered groups can pay a reduced rate. As a part of group registration, group organizers will receive a special registration link to allow their members to sign up at a 25% discount.

Groups need only three members to qualify. The first two participants who join a group will pay full price; once the third member joins, they and all future members will receive the group discount, and the first two will receive partial refunds of 25%.

While it’s easy enough to share the materials and video with others in your in-person group who are not registered, we request that all who participate in more than one session go ahead and register for the training. This helps us understand the reach of our training and improve future offerings.

No one will be turned away for lack of funds. Based on need, you may request discounted or free registration for the training.

If you choose to make an “Open” group, it will be listed in our Group Directory. Those interested in joining your group can email you, at which point you can share the special registration link they can use to join your group. You might also look at our list of individuals seeking groups.

We also recommend spreading the word in other ways. You can email friends and sangha members, post on social media, or even highlight your group on your personal website if you have one. You can use the invitation template on this page as a starting point for spreading the word about the course and your group.

Our facilitator’s guide can be a useful resource for group leaders, especially those who are new to the role. Read or download it here: Group Facilitator’s Guide

Find an online or in-person group in our Group Directory. If you don’t see one that works with your schedule, you might consider creating a group or adding your name to our Individuals Seeking Groups list.

That said, you are absolutely welcome to join the training as an individual and we hope that you will.

To receive the group member rate, your group need have only three members. After that, there is no set size to a group. Each participant in a group registers individually for the course at the group rate (see our explanation of registration fees). Groups of 6 to 10 work well, but we encourage you to do what will be most effective for your community.

Yes, if the group rate is not affordable, group members can apply for discounted or free registration. Since the discounts cannot be combined, individuals should apply for the full amount of support needed.

If your request is approved, you will receive a special link from One Earth Sangha to sign up at the discounted rate. Use this registration link instead of the link you may have received from your group facilitator—you’ll be able to choose your group from a drop-down menu during registration.
