Please tell us about your work, passions and/or talents with respect to the climate or justice movement

Well, hello. I am a geographer/translator/teacher and I´ve been involved in grassroots/community activities for quite a long time. I´ve also worked for a Swiss NGO promoting housing rights. Currently I am a Board member of a Zen Association in Brazil called Via Zen in Porto Alegre, in the State of Rio Grande do Sul. The Association holds a rural site named Vila Zen which is comprised of 40 hectares and we are presently involved in cultivating an EcoVillage/Center of Practice. Quite a lot of work, but truly rewarding! Apart from that most of our members are concerned with environmental issues and with the highly worrying political situation we have been facing in Brazil since the election of Bolsonaro. We have then been discussing ways to act in our present scenario in such a way that we may be of assistance to all beings while also keeping the right path of Dharma.

What is your past experience with trauma/stress healing?

Well, I´ve been working in therapeutical groups since I was a young woman – it´s been a little while now! I`ve also taken countless courses throughout my life on several themes related to psychology/spirituality, including a very interesting system called Biopsychology. I am also a certified Yoga teacher – and I have plans to start studying Ayurveda in 2022. I have also taken several years of Psychoanalysis as a patient and I am currently studying it as a post-grad. In the end of 2121 I will conclude my three-year journey in a therapeutical system called Biodanza and I will become a facilitator in this beautiful transformative methodology.

What are your goals for participating in this course?

As a geographer I am reasonably aware of our present circunstances, but our Earth system is so absolutely magnificent, mysterious and ingenous that there is literally no end to our learning process: Therefore I always want to learn more about it! Similarly I also want to establish human connections of trust and purpose with all the other students so that we may strenghten our collective efforts towards a higher level of compassionate active action.

What are some communities you’re a part of that might benefit from what you would be learning in this course?

Certainly my own Zen Association, at first, but I do intend to establish a local/regional – perhaps even nation-wide – program to rise awareness and warm hearts, as well as to find loving and transformative paths to act before our rigid, awfully masculine governmental system…there is so much to be done….

Connections

Tchoren has started an initiative right after she´s taken her first course with Kritee and I´ve been involved with this small – but quite intense – group ever since. We´ve been sharing some encounters for a few months and we´ve also been at several sessions of Council together.
