| Please tell us about your work, passions and/or talents with respect to the climate or justice movement | Protecting the environment has been my passion since I became the Director of Washington Environmental PAC in the 70’s, followed by started a Washington State Wetlands Protection group for Audubon (and received Volunteer or the year) and starting recycling on St. John USVI. I lived for 15 years off the grid with solar power, battery back-up, cisterns for water, composting toilet. |
| What is your past experience with trauma/stress healing? | I am a climate change victim having gone through two Category 5 hurricanes and losing everything except my cottage – all personal items, furniture, etc. etc. Joanna Macy’s work has been wonderful for healing. |
| What are your goals for participating in this course? | I have an interest in changing the landscaping on Maui, specifically the grass. I anticipate opposition and resistance and I’d like to learn how to engage and encourage participation. We also have challenges with Monsanto using the island as a test site. |
| What are some communities you’re a part of that might benefit from what you would be learning in this course? | I am just becoming a part of the organic gardening community on Maui. I am also interested in supporting Freight Farms on Maui. |

| Time Commitment | The major challenge will be the time zones, I admit but I am retired due to Covid concerns. I have owned my own businesses and am used to being self-directed. Yes, it feels realistic and doable. |
