Climate Cafe

This program will be led by Sharon Salzberg, Frank Ostaseski, and Roshi Joan Halifax. Love, while often categorized as romantic, also includes ethical action, social concern, and responsibility. It is grounded in seeing our interdependence with all beings.

Every Wednesday until January 7 Guardians of the Sacred will be dedicated to the protection of Oak Flat. Oak Flat, Chi’chil Biłdagoteel, is a sacred site for the Western Apache people in Arizona. It is currently in grave danger of being turned over to an international copper mining company.

We invite you not just to talk about the future, but to join us there. We will spend the day dreaming, drawing, drafting delightful designs, and discussing the dramatic distance between our present world and the near future we will be visiting. You can expect the workshop to be active, fun, and engaging—it’s part reflection, part visioning, part theater game, part grief, and part radical hope.
