My name is Anthony Field and I’m an organizer with the Chesapeake Climate Action Network (CCAN). Working with my friends at CASA and the NAACP Maryland State Conference, we’ve created a “climate justice resolution” and we hope your organization will sign.

Why sign this document? Because UN scientists recently released a new 3,675-page report on global warming. The core message is this: "Delay means death."

By death, the report says fatal storms, droughts, and heatwaves will disproportionately kill the poorest and most vulnerable people in America and worldwide. By delay, the report says policymakers in Maryland and worldwide must stop postponing bold climate policies that cut carbon and protect the vulnerable.

Now we need your help. Will your organization sign this resolution demanding climate justice in Maryland? Join CCAN, CASA, and NAACP Maryland State Conference in demanding climate action and climate fairness. The deadline to sign is March 23.

This resolution calls for 100% clean electricity by 2035 without incentives for burning trash. It calls for investments in underserved communities and increased access to public transit and clean transportation. And it calls for labor provisions for large clean-energy projects.

Our goal is to push our state's lawmakers forward on climate and justice issues that are essential to protecting human health and the livelihoods of families across Maryland, and ensuring future generations can enjoy clean air free from fossil fuel pollution.

But we need your help. Will your organization sign this resolution demanding climate justice in Maryland? Join CCAN, CASA, and NAACP Maryland State Conference in demanding climate action and climate fairness. The deadline to sign is March 23.

If you have any questions or want to confirm if you have signed on, please feel free to reach out.
