Grounding in Deep Relationship

Meditation with the Earth, for the Earth, as the Earth

By

Catherine McGee, a guiding teacher with One Earth Sangha, offers five short meditations for grounding in our deep relationship with the Earth. While she suggests that this is helpful for “beginners”, we believe this can be truly helpful for all of us. This is a resource for One Earth Sangha’s EcoSattva Training.

From the Practice

Imagine how nice that could be for your body, that somebody asks them, “What kind of breath would you like to breathe?” And is sincerely interested to wait to see and sense the response.

… trying on that possibility, to really take your place as an outcropping of the Earth, as a sensitive human being, as one who deeply cares for planet and people with all that you know, all that you don’t know, all the gifts of your heritages, all their sensibilities and ways of knowing, breathing in and breathing out.

A long term student of the Diamond Approach, Catherine has been teaching Insight Meditation internationally since 1997. She is a member of the Gaia House teacher council, and since 2014 has been collaborating with Rob Burbea in shaping and teaching Soulmaking Dharma. Her teaching emphasizes embodiment and working with whatever hinders us from living our deepest knowing in the world.
