Reawakening Humanity’s Sacred Connection with Earth

In this 21st century, tremendous progress has been made in the development of zero-carbon technologies. And yet, we are struggling to decarbonize our societies and meet our global climate goals. Perhaps this should not surprise us; like many of our modern challenges, the climate crisis is in essence a spiritual crisis. To solve it necessitates a real shift in consciousness — from consumption to contemplation. Come join educator, engineer, and environmentalist Samrat Pathania to explore how eastern philosophy- the Upanishads in particular- can help us attain the inner balance that is necessary to end the upheaval in the external world.

This workshop invites participants into an embodied and relational learning experience where we will be practicing these capacities. Drawing from climate psychology, neuroscience, and the Work That Reconnects, we will move through the spiral offering a mix of contemplative practice, nature connection, teaching, experiential activities and group process.

Santosh Raut and guests William Edelglass, Rima Vesely-Flad, and Cornel West bring scholarly, contemplative, and liberatory perspectives into the legacy of B.R. Ambedkar — a twentieth century Buddhist political thinker who combined intellectual brilliance with his own Dalit identity to understand the dharma as a complete response to oppression, dignity, and freedom.
