Drawn to the Shambhala teachings of Chögyam Trungpa, Jan visited Karmê Chöling in Barnet, Vermont, in 1988. He became Karmê Chöling’s master gardener soon thereafter. Since that time, Karmê Chöling’s organic garden has drawn thousands of visitors, and Jan has mentored many garden enthusiasts. He is currently looking for a successor to build onto his legacy.
